DME Dr Anup Barman inspects site for Tamulpur Medical College and Hospital

BAKSA: The foundation stone-laying programme of Tamulpur Medical College and Hospital, to be set up at Kachubari in Tamulpur subdivision of Baksa district according to the BTR agreement, has been completed. The Assam Government will start construction of this medical college and hospital soon.

On Wednesday, Dr Anup Barman, Director of Medical Education (DME), Government of Assam, and Dr. Manoj Kumar Chaudhury, Executive Director, National Health Mission, arrived at Tamulpur subdivision headquarters. The two officials, along with Dr Bedanga Talukdar, Subdivisional Officer (civil) of Tamulpur subdivision, visited the 160 bighas of land area assigned by the revenue department of BTR for construction of the medical college and hospital.

The two officials inspected the site and later held discussions with the Tamulpur subdivision administration and local citizens. The officials will submit a detailed report to the Assam Government after preparation of a report on the land of the Tamulpur medical college and hospital.
