Don't waste even a penny of allocated funds, Minister Ajanta Neog warns officials

GOLAGHAT: Ajanta Neog — State Finance Minister and local MLA — reviewed the ongoing development works as well as the yet-to-be-completed projects of the different departments in the LAC (Legislative Assembly Constituency).

During the review meeting at the Conference Hall of Golaghat Circuit House, the Finance Minister directed the departments to speed up works of the incomplete projects and also the new projects — especially those under the 'Jal Jeevan Mission' and other water supply projects.

Minister Neog directed the Executive Engineer of PHE (Public Health Engineering) department to formulate a plan so that all families in Golaghat will get pure drinking water.

Neog further said that everyone should work to make Golaghat an 'Ideal District'. The Minister further asked the DC to form a 'Special Task Force' for monitoring the 'Jal Jeevan Mission' project in Golaghat.

The meeting also discussed the matter of land allocation for the proposed medical college and Sati Sadhani University. She also directed them to speed up the works for beautification of Golaghat town. On the other hand, Ajanta Neog directed Golaghat SP (Superintendent of Police) Dr Robin Kumar, to initiate sterner steps to control various illegal and criminal activities in the district.

Also present on the occasion were Golaghat DC (Deputy Commissioner) Mrigesh Narayan Baruah, DDC Orpah Baglary, CEO of Golaghat Zila Parishad Dhiraj Das along with several other officials from the district administration and other departments.

After the meeting, Minister Ajanta Neog took stock of the conditions of roads and visited a number of the wards in the district.
