Doomdooma Xakha Lekhika Samaroh Samity observed Rabha Divas

DOOMDOOMA: Bishnu Rabha Divas was observed by Doomdooma Xakha Lekhika Samaroh Samity at its permanent venue at Rupaisiding.

President Dr Mina Devi Baruah presided over the meeting and lit the ceremonial lamp before the portrait while vice-president Kironmoyee Hazarika Baruah, besides garlanding the portrait of Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha, delivered a speech on him. Bishnu Rabha Sangeet was presented by Kakali Devi Baruah, Jinumoni Gohain and others. A dance on the song Biswar Chande Chande by Sangita Deka Baruah enthralled the audience.

Mira Saikia read out a story on lockdown. It was followed by recitation of the poem Bishnu Rabha etiya kiman rati composed by Birendra Kumar Bhattacharya, by Anju Konwar.

The day was also observed by Doomdooma Sakha Xahitya Xabha. The programme got underway with hoisting of flag by president Bimala Baruah. Vice-president Jay Surya Bora lit the ceremonial lamp before the portrait of Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha. A wall magazine brought out under the editorship of Gautam Medhi was released by Deben Deka, assistant secretary of Tinsukia Zila Xahitya Xabha.

Tinsukia Zila Xahitya Xabha observed Rabha Divas at Jugal Kishore Keshan Bhavan, Makum. The programme began with hoisting of flag by president Arjun Baruah in the morning. Secretary Manoram Bora lit the ceremonial lamp before the portrait of Bishnu Prasad Rabha.
