Dr Ilias Ali invited to Rashtrapati Bhavan by the President of India

MANGALDAI: Padma Shri recipient eminent surgeon Dr. Ilias Ali has been invited by the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind to the ‘at home’ reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan at 6 pm on August 15. The President, as per the tradition, has hosted the ‘at home’ reception to mark the 73rd Independence Day. Dr Ali, accompanied by his wife, left for New Delhi on Wednesday evening. Dr Ali a worthy son of the historic Pothorughat, launched his challenging mission to control the increasing population using NSV in 1993. Despite facing a lot of challenges, he has been successful in getting NSV performed in 55,000 persons mostly living in the remote char areas of River Brahmaputra. In recognition of his sincere service to the nation, President Ram Nath Kovind this year had conferred the Padma Shri award on him.
