Draft photo electoral roll published in Biswanath district

BISWANATH CHARIALI: Draft photo electoral rolls were prepared under Rule-10 of Registration of Elector Rules, 1960 with reference to January 1, 2021 as the qualifying date and they have been published in all the designated locations under 76 Biswanath, 77 Behali and 78 Gohpur Legislative Assembly Constituencies in Biswanath district.

The claims in Form 6 for inclusion of names of all eligible persons who have not yet enrolled themselves as electors in the electoral roll and all those who have attained 18 years of age and above as on January 01, 2021, objections in Form 7 are for deletion of names on ground of death and shifted for various reasons, Form 8 for correction of entries in the electoral roll and photo mismatch and Form 8A for transposition of names within the LACs, may be lodged at the Designated Polling Stations and at the office of the Electoral Registration Officers (Election Office, Biswanath and Gohpur) within December 15, 2020.

According to information, total number of polling stations are 198, 154 and 228 in Biswanath, Behali and Gohpur LACs while total number of doubtful voters is 7,14, 967 and 1,576 respectively in the said constituencies. The claims and objections as might be received will be disposed off by the Electoral Registration Officer within January 5, 2021 and the Final Electoral Roll will be published on January 15, 2021. Active cooperation is solicited from all concerned for hundred percent enrollment and preparation of error-free photo electoral rolls within the time schedule prescribed by the Election Commission of India.
