KOKRAJHAR: The draft photo electoral rolls for 30- Kokrajhar East (ST) Legislative Assembly Constituency (LAC) were published on Monday. This was informed by Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer, Kokrajhar, Varnali Deka, at a press conference held in the conference hall of the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kokrajhar in the presence of representatives of political parties.

Deka briefed the media that the list of supplements to the draft photo electoral rolls with respect to the 30- Kokrajhar East (ST) LAC was prepared in accordance with the Registration of Electoral Rules, 1960 and the copies were made available for inspection at the office of the District Election Officer, ERO/Circle Offices, all Polling Stations and Booth Level Offices during office hours.

Stating about revision activities to be held in the district, she apprised that people could now register their claims and objections from November 9, 2022 to December 8, 2022. "All these claims and objections will be disposed of by January 3, 2023 and the final photo electoral rolls for 30- Kokrajhar East (ST) LAC will be published on January 5, 2023," she added. She also informed that so far there are a total of 1,85,394 (male- 91,207, female- 94,187 and transgender- 0) voters with 5,527 additions and 6,773 deletions in the draft roll of 30-Kokrajhar East (ST) LAC.

MANGALDAI: Along with the rest of the election districts, the photo based integrated draft electoral roll of special summary revision with respect to January 1 as the qualifying date were published for the four legislative assembly segments, namely Kalaigaon, Sipajhar, Mangaldai (SC) and Dalgaon under Mangaldai Election District on Wednesday.

Deputy Commissioner, Darrang Pranab Kumar Sarmah, in presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Election) Sanjeev Borah, Election Officer Pranjal Pran Saikia, Assistant Commissioner and officiating DIPRO Monika Borgohain, representatives of the political parties and others released the draft roll in the conference hall of the DC's office. This was followed by a media briefing where it was disclosed that the total number of electorates in the district are 8,71, 431 against the figure of 8, 63,822 recorded in the final list published on January 5, 2022. There is an overall increase of 7,609 voters with 0.88 per cent. Dalgaon recorded the highest rise of 5128 electors followed by Mangaldai with 2,465 and Sipajhar 316.

On the other hand, there is a surprise fall of 300 electors in No 65 Kalaigaon LAC. The list included 8,076 electors in the 18-19 age group whereas the 20-29 age group registered the maximum of 2,53,319 electors. A total of 14,464 electors recorded in the above 80 years group. The population gender ration in the district is 972 against the state figure of 958. The photo coverage in the electoral roll as on November 9 stood at 99.55 per cent. As stated in the press briefing, voters of the district can check their names in the draft in the offices of Election Officer, Mangaldai and all the Revenue Circle offices of the district. Accordingly, any deserving citizen whose name is left may apply for inclusion of his or her name in the list till December 8 next. The application may also be filed online at www.nvsp.in or voters.eci.gov.in or through the voter helpline mobile app.

TEZPUR: The Draft Photo Electoral Rolls for Tezpur Election District with January 1, 2023 as the qualifying date was published on Thursday in all the designated locations under 71-Dhekiajuli LAC,72 Borchalla LAC,73-Tezpur,74 Rangapara and 75-Sootea LAC. It was formally published at a meeting held at DC's office here in the presence of Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Deba Kumar Mishra, ADC Raj Boruah, Election Officer, Tezpur, Eva Das, all Circle Officers, other officials of the election department, representatives of political parties and BLOs. As of date, there are a total of 9,49,103 voters in Tezpur Election District out of which 4,76,299 are males and 4,72,804 are females (and 16 are third gender). Any claims and objections may be lodged online through www.NVSP.in or through Voter Helpline App or to the Booth Level Officers in their designated locations within December 8, 2022.

The claims may be made in Form 6 for inclusion of names of all eligible persons who have not yet enrolled themselves as Electors in the Electoral Roll and all those who have attained 18 years of age and above as on 01/01/2023; in Form -6B for Aadhaar linking with Voter ID Cards/ objections; in Form 7 for deletions of names on ground of death and shifting of voters to other locations and for various reasons; in Form 8 for correction of entries in the Electoral Roll/ photo mismatch and for transposition of names within the LA constituency. The claims and objections received will be disposed off by the Electoral Registration Officer within December 26, 2022 and the Final Electoral Roll will be published on January 5, 2023. Deputy Commissioner Deba Kumar Mishra sought active cooperation from all concerned for 100% enrolment and preparation of an error-free Photo Electoral Roll within the time schedule prescribed by the Election Commission of India.

GOALPARA: With 3.6 per cent increase in voters, the draft electoral roll of Goalpara district was published by Khanindra Choudhury, district election officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner on Wednesday at the DC's conference hall. The total number of voters during the 2021 general election in the district was 7,64,711. However, after the applications received through the proforma No.6, the number has increased up to 79,1,960.

On the other hand, voters may fill their claims and objections regarding the list, both online and offline, upto December 8 and after the verifications, the final list will be published on January 6, informed Shashi Deka, election officer who was also present in the meeting.

Meanwhile, DC Khanindra Choudhury ensured an error-free voters' list and allayed fear of wrong entries, especially the entry of dead voters in the list. "We will have certificates from the BLOs regarding the correctness of the list and especially of the dead voters," said the DC. There are four legislative constituencies in Goalpara district with 36 no. Dudhnoi constituency being reserved as ST.
