KOKRAJHAR: Lwrgi Theatre Group (LTG), a popular group of artistes of Kokrajhar staged a drama named 'Bhaotina' at AR Artists' Village, Chandamari in Kokrajhar fostering a positive message against the menace of drugs in society. The drama received a huge applause from the spectators.

The drama which was written and directed by Didwm Basumatary, a passed out student of Theatre- in- education from National School of Drama (TIE wing), Agartala based on the bad impact of drugs addiction in the society. The writer brilliantly framed the plot of the drama as to how drugs destroy a peaceful family.

Kokrajhar has witnessed an increase in the number of drug-addicted youths. The scriptwriter who is from Tengapara of Kokrajhar has his experience in his village about the impact of killer drugs. Many guardians appreciated his idea showcased through the drama.

Talking to The Sentinel, the secretary of the LTG Sanjib Kr Brahma said 'Bhaotina' was the 18th drama of the group staged so far. He said the drama had many new and old artistes who performed brilliantly. "We are providing a platform for the talented artistes of the region but the group still lacks in facilities. The LTG is now a recognized theatre group under Repertory Group of Cultural Affairs, Government of India," he said adding that they needed basic facilities from the government to carry out their continuous activities. He also said they will start Sunday Club for children from April next. The 'Bhaotina' was performed by artistes-Firfila, Thandwi, Ambrit, Puturam, Sansuma, Ansai, Ringki, Kwmdwn and Janaki.
