SILCHAR: Under Pradhan Mantri Adharsh Gram Yojana, out of 64 villages in Cachar district, four villages have been declared as model villages as work has been completed. This announcement was made at a function organized by the district administration, Cachar here on Tuesday in presence of people's representatives, panchayat officials and top officials of various departments.
During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner of Cachar, Keerthi Jalli inaugurated an app called 'Drishti' to monitor the activities of the remaining 60 villages in the district, stated a press release. While speaking on the occasion Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli said, "Under the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojna, a scheme monitoring application has been developed locally which is the first of its kind. Our four villages have already been declared as aadarsh gaon (ideal village). We have included Anganwadi centres, road and transport, fisheries and solar street light under the convergence scheme model. Most importantly, for this performance, Cachar has been given the best district award in the national level for which I truly thank the entire team for their outstanding support and hardwork in order to make it a successful one."
Appreciating the performance of the various departments, Jalli said, "Cachar district has been given the best status at the national level by the Central Government due to the high quality work done in these four ideal villages. In these ideal villages, various facilities like distribution of nutritious food at Anganwadi centre, repair of building of educational institutions, construction of roads, management of fishery, provision of drinking water, electric lighting have been provided to the villagers, further attempts have been made to meet the remaining money gap of convergence or coordination of different departments and overall development during the formation of the ideal village. The current status of the projects in the remaining 60 villages under the Drishti app will be known shortly."
