DHUBRI: Despite an active network that is keeping a tab on anti-social activities, including gambling and drug peddling, drug peddlers are running the trafficking racket by changing the modus operandi.
However, there has been no let-up in the police team which swings into action as soon as it gets the input of drug trafficking and this was evident in a raid on Friday night where one person was rounded up and drugs were seized.
Talking to The Sentinel, Superintendent of Police (Headquarter), Trinayan Bhuyan said that having got the input, they raided the house of one Kasim Ali, a resident of ward 4 of Gauripur town of Dhubri district, and seized 49 bottles of SRC Kuff cough syrup, 120 tablets of Sampex, Plus capsule and 240 Pyeevon Spas plus.
“Sub-Inspector Monoj Newar, Women Sub-Inspector Mamoni Kumari, and other staff took part in the raid. We will continue to conduct raids and tear up the network in the days to come,” Bhuyan said.
