Drug peddlers apprehended by Assam Police

JAMUGURIHAT: In a joint operation conducted by a team of Sootea and Itakhola police, two drug peddlers were apprehended by the police team on Saturday evening from Balidonga area along with two containers containing heroin. The drug peddlers were identified as Gobin Gupta (35) and Ankur Bora (31) who hailed from Santipur and Kochgaon area of Biswanath Chariali. The value of the revered heroin is worth of fifty lakhs, added a police source. The operation was conducted under the leadership of Shyamal Jyoti Saikia and Bhaskar Saikia; officers in charge of Sootea police station and Itakhola outpost respectively.
