Drugs seized, one arrested by Dillai police in East Karbi Anglong

Bokajan: Acting on a tip off, the Dillai police seized a huge quantity of suspected heroin from the DillaiTiniali area on NH-36 in East KarbiAnglong on Tuesday. Police also arrested one person in connection.As reported, the Dillai police, based on specific information, searched a passenger bus bearing registration number AS 02CC 2104 in the DillaiTinali area and after thorough search, the police recovered 31 soap boxes containing 371 grams of suspected heroin from the possession of a passenger, Ashor Ali (23). Ali is a resident of 5th Mile under Diphupar Police station in Dimapur.

The naka was set up under the leadership of John Das, APS, SDPO Bokajan and he was assisted by Dillai OC SI (UB) RajuBahadurChetry and staff. The approximate value of the seized drugs is said to be over Rs 10 lakh in the black market.
