Dry Day Announced on Holi Mahotsav in Guwahati on Sunday, 28 March 2021

Guwahati: There are few days specific days in Assam when the liquor shops remain closed. A recent news that 28th March, Sunday will be dry day in Guwahati. May it be killer for drink lovers.

The Officer of Kamrup Metro District has announced that on the occasion of Holi Mahotsav, all the liquor shops will be closed on Sunday, 28 March. The decision has been taken in the light of 'public peace' ahead of Holi festival celebration in Guwahati.

The order issued by the officials stated that all the retail IMFL 'ON'/'OFF/Club licenses and all the Country spirit shops will enforce the closure till 4 p.m on Sunday.

In the order, it also stated that 'Any violation of the above will be viewed seriously'. Earlier on 25 March, dry days were declared for 48 hours in poll-bound constituencies of Assam.
