KOKRAJHAR: The District Task Force (DTF) committee meeting of Kokrajhar district for Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI 4.0) or Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) programme and upcoming National Immunization Day (NID) was held under the chairmanship of Dhiraj Saud, Secretary of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), Kokrajhar, in the conference hall of the BTC secretariat on Tuesday.

In the meeting, Dr. Assad Ullah, Additional Chief Medical and Health Officer, Kokrajhar briefed the objective of the meeting and Dr. D Bhowal, District Immunization Officer, Kokrajhar made a power point presentation on district's plan to achieve the desired target of immunization, and activities undertaken during the programme. He informed that the IMI 4.0 and NID for IPPI will be conducted from February 7 to February 15 and February 27 to March 1, 2022 respectively throughout the district. He further informed that district had presently 1,22,120 targeted children of 0-5 years of age and 31,690 children of 0-2 years for immunization.

In his speech, BTC Secretary Dhiraj Saud spoke on the importance of 100 per cent immunization for preventing and eradicating wild polio virus. He requested all the health workers, including responsible medical officers, to reach out to all targeted beneficiaries to achieve hundred percent immunizations in the district. He also requested other government employees to assist the health department during the immunization programme.

Dr. J Ahmed, Joint Director, District Health Services sought cooperation from all in getting every child immunized in the district. Attending at the programme, Surveillance Medical Officer, World Health Organization (National Polio Surveillance Project), Bongaigaon unit Dr. Hiren Gogoi spoke on the surveillance and routine immunization related activities for preventable diseases in connection with IMI 4.0 and NID.
