Duliajan Police Seize 755 Litres of Condensate Oil, One arrested

NAHARKATIA: In a major crackdown against illegal condensate oil trade, Duliajan police seized 755 litres of condensate oil from Kathalguri Paachhuti village of Duliajan constituency on June 1. Following a tip-off, a team of police led by Duliajan OC Rupjyoti Dutta raided the residence of Sunu Singh alias Ashok Singh (35) at Kathaguri Paachuti village. The Duliajan police squad carried out the operation at around 10.30 - 11.00 pm of Tuesday night.

The recovered condensate oil was stored in gallons. The condensate oil was allegedly collected by illegal trader Ashok Singh from the crude oil transportation pipeline of Oil India Limited. Duliajan police registered a case under section 379/411 of IPC R/w Sec 3(2)(b) Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act 1984, Petroleum Act 1934 under Section 23. Condensate oil trader Sunu Singh alias Ashok Singh was sent to Dibrugarh District Prison on Wednesday.
