DHUBRI: An e-rickshaw showroom, SKB showroom was inaugurated by Dhubri Deputy Commissioner Anant Lal Gyani in Guru Teg Bahadur Road and donated the first of its e-rickshaw to a Divyang (physically challenged), Ram Chandra on Wednesday.

The cost of the e-rickshaw was jointly sponsored by SKB and Lions Club of Dhubri. Secretary of Dhubri Lions Club, Sanjay Sethia said that Ram Chandra had tumour in the legs due to which he had to be amputated and he lost both his legs. Dhubri Deputy Commissioner Anant Lal Gyani took initiative for his treatment and got his legs replaced with callipers.

But due to the loss of his legs, Ram Chandra was unable to do any work, Sethia further said. “Anant Lal Gyani approached Dhubri Lions Club to help him and we readily agreed. SKB’s Sheetal Kumar Bucha too helped in donating an e-rickshaw to Ram Chandra jointly,” he added.

In the programme, Dhubri ADC Animesh Taluka, District Transport Officer Ganesh Sonowal and president of Chunri unit of Lions Club, Suresh Kumar Harlalka were present.
