Earthquake mock drill in Bongaigaon by Assam State Disaster Management Authority

Bongaigaon/Kokrajhar: As per the instruction of the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Chirang in collaboration with the Elementary and Secondary Education Department, Chirang, Fire and Emergency Services, Chirang conducted an earthquake mock drill on school safety in 100 schools of the district recently.

Gagan Narzary, DIPRO Chirang, said that the basic objective of the earthquake mock drill was to create awareness among the students about earthquake safety measures. “Besides the mock drill, an exhibition was also organized centrally at Little Flower School, Chapaguri, Chirang by the organizers where various equipment were displayed for the students, teachers and general public,” he said.
