Effigies of Amit Shah, Arjun Munda burnt at Rail Gate of Doomdooma town

DOOMDOOMA: At the call of the central committee of All Assam Muttock Yuva Chatra Sanmelan (AAMYCS), the Doomdooma and the Burhidihing regional committees of the organization staged a protest on Friday at Rail Gate of Doomdooma town against the Central Government for 'deceiving' the Muttock tribe by not according them Scheduled Tribe (ST) status.

The protesters burnt the effigies of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda. They also shouted slogans against the BJP-led NDA government. Later, talking to the media persons, the leaders of AAMYCS made it clear that they would intensify their protest in the coming days if the government did not accord ST status to them immediately.
