Effigies of Prime Minister and Chief Minister burnt

GAURISAGAR: All Assam Tai Ahom Students’ Union (AATASU) on Monday burnt the effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Sarbanonda Sonowal at Amguri to demand ST status to six ethnic communities and against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill. The AATASU activists protested half nude. The programme was initiated by AATASU in association with its Amguri regional committee. In the programme, Sivasagar district committee vice-president Devajit Chetia, Sivasagar subdivision committee secretary Dinesh Gogoi and other leaders were present.
