Dibrugarh: The Election Commission of India has extended the deadline of the process of reviewing the voters’ list from October 15 to November 18. The process has been taken up by the office of the Election Officer as per the orders of the Election Commission of India to correct the errors in the details of the voters and to enlist every eligible member of the family in the electoral rolls.

Under the programme, people can use many media, including the mobile application named ‘Voter Helpline’, NVSP portal, voter helping centres of the offices of the circle officers of the district, voter helpline number 1950 (only for the differently-abled people) and Arunodoi centres. People can check their own details as well as those of their family members, and if any correction is to be made, they can apply for the same along with the necessary documents immediately. Passport, driving license, Aadhar card, ration card, identity cards issued by government and semi-government organizations, bank passbook and any document approved by the Election Commission of India will be accepted as proof of verification while submitting applications

A large number of voters here were facing technical issues while applying for corrections in the details of their Voter IDs. With more and more number of people logged in, the online platforms had gone slower than usual, causing inconvenience, botheration as well as anxiety among many.
