LAKHIMPUR: The first inspection of Expenditure Registers of the candidates in contest in Assam Legislative Assembly Election — 2021 from the four LACs of Lakhimpur district was held on Wednesday as per instruction incorporated in the Compendium of Instructions on Election Expenditure Monitoring, August 2020.
The inspection process was held in the conference hall of North Lakhimpur Circuit house wherein Election Expenditure Observer for Lakhimpur district, Nidhi Agarwal, IRAS, examined the expenditure details of candidates who are in poll fray in No. 109 Bihpuriya LAC, No. 110 Naoboicha LAC, No. 111 Lakhimpur LAC and No. 112 Dhakuakhana LAC. The member officers of the Election Expenditure Monitoring Cell of the district extended cooperation to the observer while conducting the inspection.
The Expenditure Register of the candidates of No. 110 Naoboicha LAC and No. 112 Dhakuakhana LAC was conducted from 10:00am to 1:00pm while the same of the candidates of No. 109 Bihpuriya LAC and No. 111 Lakhimpur LAC was inspected at the same place from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.
A total of 31 candidates from various political parties, including independent candidates, are in fray in the district. During the inspection, the Election Expenditure Observer asked the contesting candidates, Election Agents, Expenditure Agents of the contesting candidates of four LACs to maintain proper records of their election expenditure. Further, she called upon the citizens of the district to use cVIGIL Mobile App to report on any incident of Model Code of Conduct in the district.
