PATHSALA: In yet another incident of electrocution, a wild elephant was killed after getting electrocuted at Manas National park in Baska district. The incident took place at Bhuyanpara Range in Manas National Park on Friday. The wild female elephant was electrocuted after coming in contact with an electric wire.

The forest department suspected that the elephant was electrocuted after coming in contact with an electric wire and died due to short circuit of high power solar electricity. "The elephants had come into contact with a live electric wire installed around a paddy field. She had come from the jungle in search of food. Post mortem has been conducted and the details of the report are awaited," an official said.
