Elephant tramples one to death in Udalguri district

TANGLA: Amidst the worrying statistics of casualties of man-elephant conflict in Udalguri district, a man was trampled to death by wild jumbo at Orangajuli TE under Paneri P.S in Udalguri district on Saturday morning. According to reports, the person identified as Raju Keunt (47) was attacked by a loner separated from herd near the residence of the deceased. Though he was rushed for treatment to Udalguri Civil Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. According to official statistics in this year alone 5 humans have died against death of 4 elephants in Udalguri district in the period of January to July 2023 .
