Ellora Vigyan Mancha opposes draft Environmental Impact Assessment-2020

DOOMDOOMA: In response to the call by the central committee of Ellora Vigyan Mancha (EVM) to oppose the draft Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), 2020, all over Assam, its Doomdooma branch also opposed the draft on Tuesday at Gandhi Chowk in Doomdooma town by maintaining social distancing.

They displayed banners and placards opposing the draft EIA, 2020 in an attempt to create awareness among people. In the banner it was stated, "Ellora Vigyan Mancha, Doomdooma Branch opposes the EIA-2020 anti-people ordinance of the Central Government whereby the forest, environment, nature and biodiversity of Assam and the Northeast are sought to be destroyed by giving unhindered opportunity to the big business houses and the capitalists to plunder these natural assets."
