BISWANATH CHARIALI: To ensure that people of remote areas like Gopal Jaroni, Thutey Chapori, Bogijuli (Assam-Arunachal border) and Gunai Chapori are not left behind from getting vaccinated against COVID-19 in Biswanath district on account of geographical constraints, the Biswanath district administration has laid emphasis on vaccination across the district from Itakhola to Howajan.
Deputy Commissioner of Biswanath, Pranab Kumar Sarmah has instructed the officials to make frequent visits to boost the morale of personnel engaged in vaccination drive in remote and riverine areas and also to generate awareness regarding vaccination among people residing in those areas.
According to information, around 4, 26,870 doses of vaccines including 3, 61, 546 numbers of first dose and 63, 324 numbers of second dose have been administered in Biswanath district so far. The district has been able to find a place among the top seven positions in terms of vaccination coverage due to the consistent efforts of the administration in association with the health department. A 'Boat Vaccination Clinic' was inaugurated in the month of July with the objective of facilitating vaccination in remote and riverine areas in the district.
