JAGIROAD: The All Assam Development Authority Employees Joint Council (AADAEJC) handed over a cheque of Rs 10,000 to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund at the latter’s office on July 31 at the Assam Secretariat, Dispur.
While talking to this correspondent, chief advisor Swapan Bhattacharyya, president Banikanta Boruah and general secretary Ratul Bora said that a delegation of the AADAEJC called on the Chief Minister at his office chamber and apprised him about the poor financial condition of the employees of development authorities of the State. They also said that despite fund crunch of the employees of the development authorities, they had extended the contribution on humanitarian ground.
They said that the employees of the development authorities in the State were not getting their monthly salary since the last 20 to 40 months. They alleged that the Government of Assam had not allocated any fund for the development authorities of the State since the last few years and that the Urban Development Department (UDD),Government of Assam was turning a deaf ear to the legitimate demands like provincialization and preparation of service rule of the employees of development authorities.
