Eviction drive in Doomdooma

TINSUKIA: Following persistent demand by various organizations, including Doomdooma Press Club, to make Doomdooma roads free from encroachers, a joint team of Doomdooma Municipality, police and civil administration began demolition drive since Monday at Rotary Path, Old AT Road, Nehru Path and Daily Bazar.

Unauthorized structures within the premises of Anchalik Karmachari Parishad, Public Health Engineering were also freed from encroachers. The entire operation was carried out without any resistance from any quarters, rather the demolition drive was welcomed by all sections of the society.

The encroachers were also being warned that their properties would be seized without any prior notice if they make any attempt to re-establish again. Circle Officer Pankaj Nagbongshi and chairman of Doomdooma Municipal Board, Dulu Arandhora told media persons that the eviction drive would continue as long as the entire Doomdooma town was made free from encroachers.
