SILCHAR: The District level exhibition cum sale,fair of Singernand cluster development project under handloom cluster development programme SOPD-G sanctioned during the year 2018-2019 was organized at the office campus of Assistant Director , Handloom and textile, Cachar Silchar on Saturday. It is informed that the fair cum sale will be continued upto Monday.

District Development Commissioner Jessica Lalsim graced the occasion as a chief guest and inaugurated the exhibition cum sale in presence of Senior advocate, NG. Ramakanta Singh, Assistant Director, Handloom and textiles, Cachar L.Harilal Singh, Retired Assistant Commissioner of taxes, L.Champalal Singh.

At the outset Deputy Handloom officer, Handloom and textiles,Cachar ,Abdul Monnaf gave the welcome address and explained the purpose and objectives of the meeting.

While speaking on the occasion District Development Commissioner Jessica Lalsim said, "I really appreciate such initiatives taken by the department of Handloom and textiles Cachar and the products produced by cluster which are exhibited here for exhibition cum sale are very eye catching and praiseworthy too. I wish for the development in Handloom sector which specially supported the women folk who are self employed in the field of Handloom. More people should come forward with innovative products for display and sale."

The meeting was concluded with a vote of thanks by Circle inspector, Handloom and textiles, Elina Devi.
