Eye donation awareness meet organised in Nalbari

NALBARI: National Health Mission, Nalbari, and Nalbari District Blindness Control and Visual Impairment Committee jointly organised an awareness meeting on the occasion of the 38th Eye Donation Week on Saturday. The meeting was attended by District Commissioner Varnali Deka as the chief guest. In her speech, she said that great deeds like eye donation help a person realise the beauty and importance of this world.

The meeting was chaired by District Nodal Officer Dr.Arun Burman. Joint Director of Health Services Dr. Subhash Chandra Sarma, Nalbari Medical College Principal Dr. Babul Kumar Bezbarua, District BJP President Dr. Mriganka Talukdar, Additional Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Kameshwar Lahkar, Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Kailash Deka, Head of Eye Disease Department of Nalbari Medical College Dr. Sewali Das, Head of Children's Disease Department Dr. Mrinalini Das, and many other dignitaries.

The week will run until September 8. Eye check-up camps will be held at various places in the district, and better treatment will be provided for the people suffering from various eye diseases, said Dr. Arun Burman, District Nodal Officer, District Blindness Control and Visual Impairment Committee.
