DIBRUGARH: An AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy sponsored online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) was organized by the Department of Petroleum Technology here at Dibrugarh University (D.U), recently.

The topic of the 5-day online FDP organized by the Department of Petroleum Technology, D. U was 'Upstream Petroleum Technology' in the thrust area of Engineering (Mining and Mineral Processing), which was coordinated by Assistant Professor of the department Dr. RanjanPhukan. The FDP was designed primarily for faculty members, research scholars, PG scholars, and participants from Government and industry.

The FDP consisted of 14 online lectures, which were delivered by professors of academic institutions, industry experts, and inspirational speakers. The speakers of FDP, amongst others, were Professor JitendraSangwai of IIT, Madras; Professor PankajTiwari of IIT, Guwahati; Professor Rajeev Upadhyay, IIT (ISM), Dhanbad; Professor Ravi Sharma of IIT, Roorkee; Dr. RanjanPhukan of Dibrugarh University, among others.

In his valedictory address, the coordinator of the FDP Dr. RanjanPhukan expressed his gratitude to ATAL Academy, New Delhi for sponsoring and granting the FDP to Dibrugarh University and to Professor RanjitTamuli, Vice-Chancellor of Dibrugarh University for allowing to organize the FDP, to Professor Minati Das, HoD of Petroleum Technology Department for her help and advice throughout the process of conducting the program.
