GUWAHATI: In yet another success in its crusade against smuggling activities, 06 Bn BSF under the aegis of Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force apprehended one Bangladeshi Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) racketeer along with fake currency notes amounting to Rs.19,000 from bordering area of village Mandolpara in South Salmara on April 30.
Acting on a tip off, BSF troops of Border outpost (BOP) Sanjay Sadhu of 06 Bn BSF carried out a special operation in the general area of village Mandolpara close to Indo-Bangladesh border. Operation party apprehended the FICN racketeer while the consignment was being smuggled from Bangladesh to India.
The accuse have been identified as – Md Rashidul Islam (22) a resident of Kurigram district, Bangladesh.
The apprehended Bangladeshi FICN racketeer along with seized currency have been handed over to Mankachar Police Station for further legal action.
