This famous temple is situated on the Nilachal Hill in western Guwahati, Assam. This temple was anciently built by the Koch king Naranarayan and the Ahom king. River Brahmaputra flows beside the temple and the temple is mainly dedicated to Goddess Shakti. The mythological belief associated with the temple is that this is a house of a vagina and womb of the deity and so with this belief, the temple was created. The beauty of the temple is quite mesmerizing and one would be speechless by its stories hidden there.

Umananda Temple:

The temple is situated on Umananda Island or Mayur island. This temple is of Lord shiva. The term 'Umananda ' derives from two words 'Uma' which means Goddess Parvati and Anand means 'Happiness'. The temple was built by the great Ahom King, Raja Gadadhar Singh from 1681 to 1694.

Baisistha Temple:

The Baisistha temple is situated in Beltola which is at the outskirts of Guwahati and is near Grabhanga Reserve forest. It is a Shiva temple is constructed by the great Ahom king, Rajeswar Singha from 1751 to 1769. The temple is built on the Vaisistha ashram, the home of saint Vaisistha.

Mahabhairav Temple:

Mahabhairav Temple is located in the northern Tezpur in Assam. It is a popular Shiva temple and was built by King Bana in the eighth to ninth century AD. Shivratri is being celebrated in great zeal and enthusiasm in this temple and devotees from various places come to visit here in that period.

Bageswari temple:

Bageshwar temple is a place where one can experience natural scenic beauty in abundance, ancient sculpture, peaceful surroundings, and green lush gardens. The temple is placed in the Bongaigaon district of Assam. A huge number of tourists from across the world come to visit here for the fact that the Trishul is found in this place with which the Goddess Durga's body was cut into pieces. This place is mainly known for its mythological significance. There is also a historic cave from which the God Shiva statue can be seen.
