FB post on ‘Moi Axomiya’ by Syed Abdul Malik causes controversy; AASU seeks legal action

GUWAHATI: Facebook post on Syed Abdul Malik’s poem ‘Moi Axomiya’ is in the middle of a controversy. Jorhat's AASU unit now seeks legal action on this.

The poem by the great stalwart has been misinterpreted after someone uploaded a few stanzas of it on social media claiming that the poem glorifies the Mughal.

An FIR against Rupa Rani Bhuyan, who teaches English at Mangaldai College has been lodged by Sadou Asom Goria-Moria-Deshi Jatiya Parishad.

Many well-known writers and dignitaries have condemned this vilification of one of the greatest literary figures of Assamese literature.
