Festival of lights Diwali celebrated with gaiety at Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh: Along with the rest of India, people of Dibrugarh also Celebrated Diwali with great gaiety and happiness. People were seen visiting each other’s houses and exchanging sweets. The places of residence and commercial establishments came to life with dazzling lights adorning them, besides diyas being lit in front of them. Youths especially were seen bursting crackers and displaying fireworks, the intensity of which relatively came down after 10 pm due to restrictions in place. Social media was flooded with Diwali greetings.

Besides, Kali Puja was also observed, especially among the Bengali community, on Sunday. While public Pujas were held in many areas of the town, many others chose to worship Goddess Kali privately in their respective homes. People across all religions were seen in a jovial mood. To make a fast buck by cashing in on the festive spirit, ad-hoc stalls for firecrackers and fireworks were laid out by many people cutting across the barriers of religion.
