LAKHIMPUR: The people of the Muslim community in Lakhimpur district are all set to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitre on Wednesday after the end of the holy month of Ramzan. The markets of North Lakhimpur town along with Laluk, Bihpuriya, Bongalmora, Narayanpur and Boginadi have witnessed a heavy rush of customers since the past couple of days. People thronged the clothes shops, bakeries, confectioneries and stalls of the street vendors in North Lakhimpur town on Tuesday in order to buy new clothes, traditional delicacies and allied items. Simultaneously, all the masjids of the district have been decorated beautifully. The Kendriya Eidgah Maidan near Lakhimpur Bor-Masjid is all set for the community namaz on Wednesday.
On this occasion, various organizations of the district have extended best wishes to the people of the Muslim community as well as the people of the State. Lakhimpur district Jamiyat Ulama Hind president Mufti Abdul Hasib, Sajad Hazarika of Muslim Ganamancha, Lakhimpur Congress Committee president Dr. Joy Prakash Das, MASS secretary Raju Singha, TAYPA president Ajit Burhagohain, Chutia Jati Sanmilan president Brojen Saikia, secretary Manik Baruah, State AKRSU secretary Rup Jyoti Dutta, sport personality Lotiful Ahmed Hussain, Lakhimpur district Swachh Bharat Mission Brand Ambassador Ranjit Kakati and other individuals and organizations of the district, while extending Eid greetings, wished that the festival would strengthen the bond of brotherhood and harmony among the people of the State.
