BISWANATH CHARIALI: As per the directions of the Election Commission of India, the final voter list with photographs of No 76 Biswanathand No 77 Behali Assembly constituencies under Biswanath district was released on Friday.

In a press conference, District Electoral Officer Munindra Nath Ngatey disclosed it. With a special brief amendment taking January 1, 2023 as the base year, the names of 1,70,390 voters in Biswanath and 1,29,197 in Behali, respectively, have been included in the final electoral roll. Of these, the number of male voters in Biswanath is 84,959 and the number of female voters is 85,431. Similarly, the number of male voters in the Behali assembly constituency is 65,074 and the number of female voters is 64,123.

According to the District Electoral Officer, the total number of polling stations in No 76 Biswanath Assembly constituency is 198 while the total number of polling stations in Behali is 154. On the other hand, a total of 1,566 new voters have been included in Biswanath assembly constituency. A total of 1,259 voters have been deleted from the same constituency due to death and migration. Similarly, a total of 1,262 new voters have been included in Behali assembly constituency and a total of 787 voters have been deleted in the same constituency due to death, migration etc.

Election Officer Debashish Goswami, Assistant Commissioner and District Information and Public Relations Officer- in-charge Srishti Kalita were also present at the press conference.

Meanwhile, in the next phase, all eligible persons aged 18 years of age in the district can apply either through the prescribed form or through voter portals etc. within a specified period of time to get their names included in the electoral rolls, the district election officer said.
