Finance and Social Welfare Minister Ajanta Neog inaugurates clock tower in North Lakhimpur

LAKHIMPUR: Finance and Social Welfare Minister Ajanta Neog inaugurated a clock tower in North Lakhimpur town. The clock tower is set up at Ward No. 7 with the investment of a fund amounting to Rs. 38,00,000 allotted under 14th Finance Commission, 2019-20, in view of beautifying the town. The clock tower has been dedicated to Amrit Balo, the Ward Commissioner of Ward No. 7 who breathed his last a few months back. Regarding the inauguration of the Clock Tower, a public meeting was organized wherein North Lakhimpur Municipal Board (NLMB) chairperson Nibenita Dutta delivered the welcome address. In her inaugural lecture, Ajanta Neog appreciated NLMB claiming that the civic body had been potent enough to implement the development schemes with due success and achievements. She congratulated the civic body for its effective implementation of a waste management project to remove the legacy wastes, accumulated in the North Lakhimpur dumping ground. Then the Finance Minister conducted the ‘Bhumi Pujan’ event at North Lakhimpur Government HS School to implement a project titled as ‘Construction and Renovation of Lakhimpur HS School under North East Special Infrastructure Development Schemes (NESIDS). A fund of Rs. 1,12,50,000.00 has been allotted to the school concerned for the implementation of the project.
