MANGALDAI: "Financial literary knowledge is quite essential for the members of the self-help groups (SHGs) in achieving their goal to become self-sufficient. The Rural Self Employment Training Institute (R-SETI), Darrang has been providing all assistance, training and guidance to the members of the SHGs to make them self-sufficient. The members of the SHGs, particularly the rural women should come forward to avail the facilities provided by the R-SETI. The members should also be aware on the proper use of the social security schemes, besides the proper utilization of the loans through financial literacy training" said Darrang Deputy Commissioner Pranab Kumar Sarma while taking part in a special function organized by the R-SETI Darrang at its premises at village Bezpara No. 1 here on Wednesday.
The function was organized by the R-SETI Darrang to provide Financial Literary Toolkits to a total of 56 trainees who completed training on Financial Literary Community Resource Person (FLCRP) recently. He also appreciated the initiative of the R-SETI Darrang in the successful organization of various training camps for the educated unemployed youths of the district.
Lead District Manager BP Karmakar, District Program Manager of Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission, Deepak Sutradhar also attended the function and offered valuable suggestions to the trainees. In the function anchored by senior trainer Kishor Kumar Sarma, Apurba Kumar Sarma, Jyoti Rekha Bezarua and Manabendra Sarma of R-SETI Darrang also took part as invited guests. R-SETI Darrang since its inception in 2011 till date has organized 246 training camps which have benefitted a total of 6,044 trainees.
