Fire at Teteliguri crop field under Tamulpur district

TAMULPUR: A fire incident in Teteliguri village under Tamulpur district on Saturday created panic in the area. A farmer in the area set fire to clean the paddy field to cultivate 'Boro' paddy in the field. As a result, the fire of dry straw spread across the vast areas of the paddy field in no time.

The fire continued to rise due to the wind. At noon, a few local farmers came to feed water to the cows and animals. When they saw the fire they immediately informed the other people of the village. Local people rushed to the spot after receiving the information and managed to douse the fire in the field with great difficulty. As a result, mustard seeds, potato and sugarcane cultivation were saved from the fire.

After getting the information a police team led by Tamulpur police station in-charge Bhaskar Deogharia reached the spot and helped villagers to douse the fire..Tateliguri village was saved from the massive fire with the help of locals and police.
