TINSUKIA: The Lions Club of Tinsukia City of Joy has organized a flood relief camp-cum-health care services at Goriating, Barekuri recently. Supported by Lions Club International Foundation (LCIF), the club distributed essential commodities for the flood-affected people who were economically backward. In association with Hapjan Development Health Centre, a free health check-up was organized and free medicines were also provided. The aid was provided to 30 families comprising of 120 people that included commodities like rice, dal, oil, potato, onions ,soybean, wheat, sanitary napkins, soap, detergent, biscuits etc.
The flood relief camp was organized under the supervision of club president Sudipta Dey, secretary Navajyoti Gohain, District Governor Dr Rima Sarmah Baruah, District Cabinet Secretary Partha Harathi Baruah and the regional chairperson Ajit Boruah. The Lions Club of Tinsukia expressed sincere gratitude to the medical team and Goriating Yuva Samaj.
