GUWAHATI: A flood relief cum free health check up camp was organized by Department of Social Work, NERIM Group of Institutions, Guwahati in association with NERIM MSW Alumnus, Dr. Vabadas Foundation and Health City Hospital of Guwahati at Chandrapur village of Kamrup (M) recently, stated a press release.
More than 200 flood victims were benefited through this relief camp. Relief were provided in the form of a package of minimum food items such as a packet of rice, daal, water bottles, biscuits, dettol soaps, milk for children, sanitary napkins and etc.
Besides this, more than 250 people and number of school students attended the health check-up camp which was driven by Dr. Himanshu Baishya, Deputy Medical Superintendent and along with two nurses of Health City Hospital, Guwahati. Free medicines were also provided to the village people during the health check-up camp.
Funds for the camp were collected from the alumnus, students, faculty member of NERIM, few welfare organizations and from the Institution. Prof. (Dr.) Sangeeta Tripathi, Director of NERIM, appreciated the initiative taken by the Department of Social Work.
