Flying Squad team & Static Surveillance Team seized cash at various places in Assam

Tezpur: A total of Rs.4,12,870 was seized from five different locations of Tezpur Election district on Thursday. While an amount of Rs. 53,870 was seized by a flying squad led by Rupam Hazarika from Sootea LAC, a flying squad led by Ravi Shankar Prasad seized two amounts of Rs.56,000 and Rs.57,000 from two locations of Jamugurihat, both falling under Sootea LAC. On the other hand, a SST led by Arup Jyoti Hazarika seized an amount of Rs.1,94,000 during a checking at Baruah Chuburi, while a flying squad led by Amlan Jyoti Borah seized an amount of Rs. 52,000 from Baruah Chuburi which falls under Tezpur LAC.

JAMUGURIHAT: A cash amount of Rs 1.66 lakh was seized by a Flying Squad team from a Maruti 800 which was heading towards Tezpur from Biswanath Chariali on Wednesday. The Flying Squad team on duty near the Dekorai Bridge under Jamuguri police station, recovered the amount during the inspection. The team was led by Chandra Shekhar Acharya.

BARPETA: The Flying Squad team and Static Surveillance Team on Wednesday seized a total of Rs 41,55,760. An amount of Rs. 22,67,500 was seized from a vehicle on the Barpeta Road- Shimlaguri Road under Sarbhog LAC from a businessman by SST ( Static Surveillance Team). On the other hand, from Keotpara under Barpeta LAC, the Flying Squad Team seized an amount of Rs. 4,56,500 from one Hannan Ali from a bus. From Chenga LAC, an amount of Rs, 14,31,760 was seized from different parts of the constituency. Again from a car at Kayakuchi, Rs 7.70 lakh was seized by SST.

GOLAGHAT: Ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections when Model Code of Conduct prevails, there have been violations in the Model Code of Conduct in Golaghat election district. Static Surveillance Teams and Flying Squad Teams have been continuously performing their duties and in search operations by these teams, huge amount of cash has been recovered and seized from different places in Golaghat. From Wednesday evening till the time of compiling this report, more than Rs 4 lakh cash has been seized by the SST and FST.

On Wednesday, Rs 84,000 was seized near Kamarbandha Police Outpost from a vehicle bearing registration number AS01 EB 6681. Another Rs 81,000 was seized at Dhansiri Bridge on Wednesday. On Thursday, an amount of Rs 1.31 lakh was seized jointly by the SST and FST at Pulibor Tini Ali. The money was seized from a Scorpio vehicle bearing registration number AS 06 S 7427. Similarly, an amount of Rs 1 lakh was seized from a vehicle bearing registration number NL 03 E 0685 and an amount of Rs 1.20 lakh was seized from a vehicle bearing registration number AS03 Q 0363 at Merapani in Golaghat.
