Guwahati: KMSS leader Dharjya Konwar on Tuesday appealed to student organizations and people of Assam to continue with their non-violent protest against the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act 2019 rather than focusing on forming a new regional political party.
He also alleged that the Government of India and Government of Assam are trying to divert the CAA issue by putting up baseless allegations against KMSS leaders.
Konwar also claimed that allegations against Akhil Gogoi having Maoist links are false and baseless. “It’s a deep-rooted conspiracy by the Government,” said Dharjya Konwar before the media.
It may be mentioned that Konwar was presented before the Special NIA Court this morning.
He was later sent to 10 day NIA remand by Special NIA Court in Guwahati.
