Donkamukam: The Gandhi Sankalpa Yatra, which began from October 15 in the three districts under No.3 Diphu (ST) Autonomous Parliamentary Constituency to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, ended on Wednesday at the Karbi Rongsopi, under Bithung Rengthama MAC constituency.

KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang called upon people to build mutual trust among each and every caste and race in the three districts. “The three districts under No. 3 Diphu ST Autonomous Parliamentary Constituency were known for various negative activities in the past such as hatred, killings and loot. So people from other districts and States were afraid to visit us. But now extremist and anti-social activities have declined and there is peace. It is high time for us to follow the teachings of the Father of the Nation,” said the CEM.

“Not only this, we need to make our environment clean by not using plastic materials,” he added. MP Horensing Bey in his speech reiterated once again to raise the common issue of the Hills districts in the coming winter session of the Parliament to be held in the month of November.

In the meeting, the KAAC CEM felicitated MP Horensing Bey for his huge margin win in the last parliamentary election. In the same meeting, Longki Bey led 20 APHLC supporters to join the BJP.
