GOLAGHAT: The 74 Assam Girls (I) Coy NCC, Golaghat and the 12 Assam (I) Coy, Golaghat, recently organized an awareness lecture followed by cooking competition for its NCC cadets and other general students. The idea was to educate the benefits of millet, its availability and its cultivation too. The event was addressed by speakers from Assam Agriculture department, Golaghat, Bidisha Bhattacharya (Millets Extension Executive), Uttam Dowerah (Millets Marketing Executive) and Assistant Professor Aparajita Kalita from HPB Girls College. The event was attended by 83 cadets, 2 ANOs, 1 GCI and 7 PI Staffs from the two NCC units. The guest speakers were honoured and felicitated who also adjudged the winner of the competition. The competition on cooking of millets dishes was an event every cadet was looking forward to and was competed by three different colleges. Furkating College secured first position who prepared Bajra upma.
