RENOVATION OF DWARBOND DRINKING WATER SUPPLY PROJECT

SILCHAR: State Forest & Environment Minister Parimal Suklabaidya, on Friday, laid the foundation stone for renovation of the drinking-water supply project at Dwarbond in the Borjalenga development block under the Dholai Assembly Constituency with an allocation of 88, 35, 000 lakh under the 'Pradhan Mantri Jal Jeevan Mission' .

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Parimal Suklabaidya said, "With the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi the Jal Jeevan Mission was launched and our Prime Minister has pledged to provide drinking water to every household in India by 2024.The BJP government is moving towards success with this thought.

"Realising that water is another name for life, Prime Minister Narendra Modi came up with the idea of ??this project and sought its proper implementation by naming it "Jal Jeevan Mission", so we should all make this dream project successful".Minister Suklabaidya added.

The Minister opined that the development work of the Assam government has not stopped even during the current Covid pandemic.Through this project, about 520 families under Dwarbond Gaon Panchayat will be able to access water through pipes in their homes.He requested the assigned contractor to maintain the quality of work.

He also presented the ledger of various public welfare projects of the BJP-led central and State governments.

He described the solution to the long-pending problems like the Prime Minister's Poor Welfare Scheme, Article 370 of Kashmir, and the Ram Mandir as major achievements of the BJP government. This is the second time that a government led by Sarma has come to the state and this government has undertaken many people-oriented projects in its forty days of operation. During the tenure of this government, a number of steps have been taken, including continuous efforts to protect the public from the Corona epidemic, and financial assistance to the families of those persons who lost their life due to Covid. MinistertSuklabaidya expressed hope that this alliance government under the strong leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma would be able to fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the people.

Expressing his happiness, he thanked Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma for allocating funds in this year's Assam budget for the proposed zoo in Dholai.

He said if the project is implemented, economic development of Barak valley will be accelerated and many jobs will be created for the unemployed.

Minister Parimal Suklabaidya also paid tribute to the martyred Assam police personnel killed in the recent barbaric attack by Mizo police at Lailapur on the Assam-Mizoram border and one minute silence was also observed at the meeting for the martyred police personnel those who lost their life in the recent incident that took place on Monday.Minister Suklabaidya made it clear that not even an inch of Assam land would be given to Mizoram.

It may be mentioned that 48 drinking water projects were approved in Dholai in the first phase and after getting approval 67 more projects will be completed in the second phase.The Minister hoped that the projects would be completed within the stipulated time.

The event was attended by West Dholai ZP member Lakshmi Rani Yadav,Borjalenga Block AP president Subudh Das, Dwarbond GP president Minakshi Mal,Anchalik Panchayat Member Dharmendra Tiwari,Borjalenga AP member Bulti Deb, SDO PHE Debdulal Das among others were present.
