Forest official of Nagaon Sadar forest range Surajit Singh dies in road accident

NAGAON: Surajit Singh, a forest official of Nagaon Sadar forest range, was killed in a tragic road mishap near Bebejia Chariali on Monday evening. Sources claimed that the forest official went to Guwahati for some official work. On his way back, he stopped his official vehicle near Bebejia Chariali to purchase something and tried to cross the road when a speeding Traveller coming from Nagaon town hit him.

Meanwhile, he was brought to Nagaon GD Nursing Home in a critical condition and the doctor on duty immediately referred him to Guwahati for further treatment. But he succumbed to his injuries on the way to Guwahati near Raha. Later, his body was brought to Nagaon BP Civil Hospital for post-mortem at night, sources added. Right after post-mortem at Nagaon Civil Hospital, his body was taken to his native village Borkula for the last rites.
