Former AASU leader Intajul Ali attacked by miscreants in Udalguri district

TANGLA: Two unidentified masked bike-borne miscreants attacked a Bolero vehicle (AS12T2443) where a former president of Paneri regional chapter of All Assam Student’s Union (AASU ) Intajul Ali, (25 ) along with three of his friends were returning from a relatives’ place in Udalguri on Thursday late night. The incident occurred at Christenpara along the Udalguri-Tamulpur road under Paneri PS in Udalguri district.
The driver side window pane and rear view mirror on the right side were damaged in the incident as per police who added that no one was injured in the incident.
The victim, Intajul Ali said, “The masked bike borne youths confronted our vehicle and we were taken by surprise when the vehicle panes cracked and bang sound resonated, we crouched down to save our lives.”
Assistant General Secretary of All Assam Student’s Union (AASU) Jayanta Kumar Bhattacharya said, “Intajul was formerly associated with the students’ union and appealed the police to investigate the incident by looking into every possible angles.”
Udalguri Superintendent of Police, Ripul Das told The Sentinel, “It is not an incident of firing and appears to be an incident of road rage as the Bolero had its headlights in upper mode which might have irked the bike borne youths and the latter might have hurled stones to damage the window panes.”
Bhergaon SDPO, Nirmal Ghosh also refuted the claims of any firing or use of firearms in the incident adding that the investigations are on. The student leader have also lodged an FIR in this regard but the details were not divulged.
