NAGAON: Bhabendra Nath Deka, former Padadhikar and the chief adviser to Srimanta Sankardev Sangha, the largest socio-religious organization of Northeast India, has been nominated again as 'Padadhikar' of Srimanta Sankardev Sangha for the upcoming session.

While speaking to some media persons, Babul Bora, secretary general of the largest socio-religious organization, officially announced his name as 'Padadhikar' of the organization at its head office here at Nagaon on Sunday.

Deka rendered his service as the principal of Rongia College from 1997 to 2004 and also served as the editor of 'Monikanchan'- the mouthpiece of Srimanta Sankardev Sangha from 1995 to 2004 following which he took the charge of Upa Pradadhikar of the organization from 2011 to 2014. Subsequently, he was elected as 'Padadhikar' of Srimanta Sankardev Sangha for the first time in 2015 and led to the largest socio-religious organization till 2019, Bora added.
