Assam: Dead body of CISF jawan fished out of Nikhari river

Guwahati: State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams on recovered the dead body of a CISF personnel named Debasis Das in the Nikhari river in Assam's Kamrup district. Das was a resident of Tetelisora under Kamrup district.

On Saturday, Debasis Das and two others were pursued by police after they were discovered having banned drugs inside a local temple. All three jumped into the Nikhari river after the cops gave chase.

The search and rescue team spent a long time searching for the missing jawan.

 Grieving locals have sought an inquiry into the death of Debashish.

Additional security forces were called in out of fear of violence in the area.
