JAGUN: In a major breakthrough, Jagun Range forest personnel, along with Jagun Police, arrested four people in connection with the illegal encroachment in Digboi divisional area under Tinkupani reserve Forest in Jagun on Wednesday morning.

The accused were identified as Trideep Narah (32), son of Dimbeshwar Narah of Dodhiya Charihuti, Chabua (Dibrugarh); Awank Kutum (50), son of Dupar Kutum of Dodhiya Charihuti, Chabua (Dibrugarh); Mistonath Dang (35), son of Durachaiya Dang of Dibrugarh; and Rama Dang (43), son of Devananda Dang of Dibrugarh respectively.

As per reports, these accused, along with their partners who managed to escape, had already deforested and encroached more than 7 hectares of land in Tinkupani RF. The four accused were sent to Tinsukia jail under the forest act.
